Requirements to export from Mexico

If you have to export merchandise, first of all, you must know that you will need a certificate of origin, because it is the document that proves the place where your merchandise has been manufactured.

In the case of a preferential origin, we are indicating that the merchandise, due to its origin, should receive preferential treatment at the import customs, such as, for example, benefiting from exemptions or applying a reduced tariff.

Although the exporter can go to a Chamber of Commerce to request and obtain the certificate of origin, it is advisable to seek the advice of a freight forwarder or Authorized Economic Operator (AEO). The AEO is a professional who knows the particularities of the countries to which you want to export and, therefore, will be able to inform you about what type of certificate of origin your goods require.

Exporter’s Guide 2021

EASA defines a regulated agent as any entity that applies cargo security controls in accordance with the requirements of Regulation [EU] No. 185/10_ANEX 6.3.2. The new air cargo security plan affects the controls that Regulated Agents and Known Shippers submit to the goods before being loaded on any aircraft or what is the same.

Cargo from a Known Shipper must be validated by an Accredited Agent who will determine what level of security should be attributed to a shipment and accordingly must apply the appropriate security controls and protect the shipment against acts of unlawful interference (sabotage, attacks and terrorist acts) when such air cargo is in his custody.

Although the concept of known consignor is voluntary, it applies to any type of company or entity sending goods by air. It therefore applies to manufacturers, traders, warehousing companies, museums, hospitals, funeral service companies, etc. In other words, the advantages and disadvantages of being or not being a known consignor apply to all types of entities.
