“Whereby the classification, enrollment and grading of students with leveling needs in mathematics, reading-writing and foreign language proficiency are regulated and Resolution 469 of 2009 is repealed”.
1. Article 13 of Agreement 033 of 2007 of the University Superior Council-CSU- establishes that the University will perform classificatory analyses in areas such as mathematics, reading-writing and English, to assess skills and abilities and propose, if necessary, leveling courses with additional credits to those of the corresponding curricular program.
2. Article 39 of Agreement 033 of 2007 of the University Superior Council establishes that the Rector, in agreement with the Academic Council, will dictate the necessary regulatory and administrative measures to implement the provisions of said agreement.
3. Agreement 008 of 2008 of the CSU “By which the Student Statute of the National University of Colombia is adopted in its Academic provisions”, in its article 5 establishes that those admitted to undergraduate programs may be classified according to the policies established by the academic authorities, in order to identify whether they require additional support to start their career.

When we speak of mathematics or mathematics, we refer to a set of formal languages that, starting from axioms and obeying logical reasoning, serve to pose and solve problems in a precise (not ambiguous) way, within the framework of very specific contexts.

Who studies mathematics
The test was given last June to a select sample composed of 3,573 schools from all entities in the country. The results are interpreted in two ways: through four levels, the first is ‘insufficient’, the second ‘basic’, the third ‘satisfactory’ and the fourth ‘outstanding’.
Chiapas, Michoacán and Oaxaca have been left out of the results because there were not enough schools in which to take the test for it to be representative in those states. Leaving aside the three, Guerrero has fallen far behind in both language and mathematics.
In the final conclusions of the results report, it is highlighted that from 2015 to 2018 students in Jalisco and Sonora had significant increases. The first state went up 18 points in language and 39 in mathematics. Meanwhile in Sonora it increased 15 in language and 26 in mathematics.
On the contrary, Tamaulipas has gone down in language, and Guerrero and Zacatecas in mathematics. Veracruz is a noteworthy case, since it dropped in both language and mathematics, 14 and 15 points respectively.
